Our Company
ABOUT THE KEEN LEARNERS
Started and helmed by dedicated and passionate teachers, The Keen Learners is the place to be for all aspiring student scholars! Our core belief is that every keen learner deserves an equally devoted mentor who can guide him/her to success. With willingness at the heart of what we do, we strive to better our students by both building on their core content knowledge and challenging their misconceptions.
WHY THE KEEN LEARNERS
SPECIALISATION
Located at both Toa Payoh and Hougang, our centres offer a conducive learning environment for students seeking to master ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Humanities, Maths, and Science.
RESULTS-DRIVEN
Our comprehensive curriculum fully equips students with the resources and confidence required to ace their examinations. Through the holistic programmes effectively conducted by our experienced teachers, many students have improved from fails to passes, and even go on to clinch distinctions within short time frames!
HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT
Apart from just teaching and instructing, our teachers constantly empower students with support and mentorship to achieve their best potential. Through innovative and interactive lessons, we help develop critical thinking skills and curiosity that contribute to each young individual’s success in future.
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
Existing students can sign up for our free exam/assignment analysis and review to harness their strengths and improve on their weaknesses. We also provide 24/7 WhatsApp Q&A support for existing students who have urgent queries.
OUR PEDAGOGY
All our ‘O’ and ‘A’ level programmes are helmed by experienced specialists in their field.
Humanities Department
Exam-focused
Through our tried-and-tested methodology, students are equipped with the necessary techniques to obtain maximum marks in examinations. Our thorough content mastery lectures break down complex concepts into easily comprehensible information, so that students can gain deep fundamental understanding of the subjects. In addition, comprehensive notes and specially curated cheat sheets are provided by our dedicated teachers to help students excel and avoid common mistakes in examinations.
Higher Order Learning
Rote memorisation is no longer sufficient to do well in the Humanities syllabuses of today. Our effective programmes develop critical skills to evaluate, analyse, and apply. Students are further exposed to a wide range of higher order questions to push them to their potential.
Broadening Perspectives
We believe that classroom learning of Humanities can never be separated from real world current affairs. Our dynamic and interactive lessons hence help develop critical thinking skills and inquisitiveness in world affairs that will contribute to each young individual’s future success.
Maths and Science Department
Exam-focused
With deep knowledge of the exam syllabuses, structure, and requirements, our students’ exam techniques are honed to a high degree, to ensure they are able to tackle every aspect of the exams. Comprehensive topical revision, coupled with a wide exposure to different question types, help to build strong content foundation for our students.
Memory Reinforcement through Content Linking
By illustrating how every topic is holistically linked with others, students begin to reinforce their content knowledge, strengthening memory pathways and improving content recollection in exams.
Learning through Misconception Management
Our first impressions and ideas of new things tend to be what sticks the longest in our memory, hence why some misconceptions seem to carry through for a long time with some students. By identifying these misconceptions and getting to their core, proper and timely management has been shown to correct them effectively and for good.
